Changes at Living Water

We will be experiencing some changes at Living Water in the near future.  Our Executive Director, Becky Dietz, is stepping down from her position December 31, 2012.  She has served in that position since March 1, 2007.   Becky has been training Selena for the past two years with this end in sight--believing Selena is the person to take Living Water to the next level.  Becky intends to do ministry in her church and play with her grandkids.

Selena McClellan has served in the position of Assistant Director since January 21, 2011.  She will be assuming the position of Executive Director January 1, 2013.

Youngest to the Oldest

Today we realized we had the youngest and the oldest volunteer for our Thursday Food Distribution here with us. On the left is Dominic Snyder who is 8 years old and comes here almost every week with his grandfather to help us.  Gracie Boyett will be 87 years old this week (Happy Birthday, Gracie!  She told us she doesn't mind sharing her age...) and can work circles around our younger volunteers.  We couldn't do it without them.  Thank you for your help each week, Dominic & Gracie!

Bags of Blessings

Bags of Blessings
It's time!!  Join us as we help provide our clients with a great Thanksgiving meal.  We've adjusted the contents of the bag to make it as affordable as ever--and still give our clients a wonderful  Thanksgiving meal.  You're welcome to come by Living Water and get a list...or just print out the list below.  We're asking you to have your Bag of Blessing returned to Living Water by November 8th so we'll have time to get organized.  You can even put a message in your Bag of Blessing.

Breakfast at Living Water

 Becky & Gib

I've been director of Living Water for 5 1/2 years.  When I became director, Gib Welch & Herman Mos became my two biggest supporters.  They both would come up alone on Wednesday mornings and get organized before the rest of the volunteers came up on Thursdays to bag groceries.  They would sit down for a few minutes and drink a cup of coffee--and I started joining them for that cup of coffee.  Soon, Herman began baking a loaf of banana nut bread and bringing it to go along with our coffee.  (I didn't know for the longest that Herman was baking the bread.  I'd tell him each week to thank Billie, his wife, for the bread!)  It became such a special time.  One day I realized that I had a wealth of wisdom sitting with me each Wednesday and I began picking their brains.  I got input for this ministry.  I asked life questions.  And I fell in love with these guys.  Herman went to be with the Lord a couple of years ago.  But since then, lots of people have joined us for our Wednesday morning breakfasts.  It's still my favorite morning of the week here at Living Water--eating something, drinking some coffee--but most of all fellowshipping with some of my favorite people in the world.

Our Volunteers at Work

I can honestly say...
WE HAVE THE BEST VOLUNTEERS IN THE WORLD!!
Below, you'll see them...and see them at work.
And you can see that they're the BEST!

Directors

Vonna Humphries was the original Executive Director of Living Water Ministries.  She started in that position when Living Water opened its doors in September 2002.  Becky Dietz followed her as the 2nd Executive Director in March 2007.  The Board of Trustees saw the need of an assistant and Selena McClellan was hired as Assistant Director in January 2011.

Photos of Preachers & Singers

We've been BLESSED with a host and variety of preachers and singers for our chapel services at Living Water these past 10 years.  There have been so many more than these pictured---and they've each blessed us!  A big thank you to each of them.
